Trim 33 ™ Weight Correction Protocol
Weight loss and dieting will soon be replaced by
weight and diet corrections. With obesity and diabetes taken on
epidemic proportions, the complexities in helping an individual attain
their healthy weight will take into account genetics, nutritional and
metabolic pathways, exercise, and specific individual hormonal
"finger-prints". Weight correction will no longer be
just about caloric restriction and increase activity, but will take
into account other factors that up till now have been under
appreciated, or unrecognized. Hormonal metabolic pathways, and
their change with age will be more respected, as will the genetic
predisposition to having enzymatic pathway deficiencies related to an
individuals genetic "finger prints".
I believe any desire to lose weight and maintain a healthy functional
weight starts with taking a snapshot of a persons hormone profile.
After that a program of nutritional supplements to help optimize the
hormone pathways and metabolic processing, is coupled with food
counseling and exercise. In addition to oral
supplements, we also offer M.I.C. & B12 injections. These are
provided to help facilitate the body's utilization of fat
stores. Weight loss is not obtained through
a single modality or treatment. It is a combination approach in an
effort to reset your body's signaling system and how it utilizes
calories. Our program takes 33 weeks. We
divide it into three 11 week phases. Some patients only need
to go through Phase I, others through the entire 33 weeks.
This is a Health Correction protocol. We want to change your
life, and keep it going in the right direction for the rest of your
life. After the initial evaluation, our program
includes 1) Weekly visits for weigh in, goal
counseling, and M.I.C-B12 injections during phase I. 2) Selection of
the appropriate medically sound diet replacements 3)

Lipotropic Injections
Lipotropic means fat loving. Basically they are substances
which can liquefy or homogenize fats.
What
are the main functions of Lipotropics?
|
1.
|
They
increase the production of lecithin by the liver. This helps
to solubilize cholesterol, thus lessening cholesterol deposits
in blood vessels and decreasing the choice of gallstone
formation. (Gallstones are made of cholesterol)
|
|
2.
|
They
prevent the accumulation of fats in the liver. A fatty liver
can cause a sluggish liver function.
|
|
3.
|
They
detoxify amine (by-products of protein metabolism) This is
important for
people on a high protein diet.
|
|
4.
|
They
increase resistance to disease. They bolster the thymus gland
to carry out its anti-disease function by stimulating the
production of antibodies. Stimulating the growth of
phagocytes, which surround and gobble up invading viruses and
microbes. They also recognize and destroy foreign and abnormal
tissue.

What
are some of the important functions of the individual Lipotropics?
Choline:
Metabolizes fat
Deficiency of Choline can lead to Cirrhosis and fatty degeneration
of the liver and hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis)
It is being used today for ailments such as gall bladder trouble,
diabetes, Muscular
Dystrophy, Glaucoma, senility and memory problems (forgetfulness)
Choline detoxifies amines that are the by-products of protein
metabolism.
Inositol:
Deficiency of Inositol can lead to hair loss
It works with Vitamin E to facilitate its actions in the treatment
of Muscular Dystrophy.
It is used in nerve and muscle disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis
and Cerebral Palsy. Caffeine may cause depletion of Inositol.
Methionine:
It works with Choline to detoxify amines which are the by-products
of protein metabolism.
It acts as a catalyst for Choline and Inositol, opening up their
function.
Along with Choline it aids in reducing liver fat and protects the
kidneys
How
are Lipotropics supplied?
They are
supplied in injectible form. Physicians generally prescribe 1 cc per
week injected intramuscularly. (Mobilizes the fat and helps to break
it down, it has Vitamin B6 to help
you lose your water weight and Vitamin B12
which boosts your energy level.

What is Metabolic Syndrome? This syndrome is one step away from
Type II Diabetes. It also increases one's risk for a cardiovascular
event. 20 million people in U.S. have diabetes, and 45 million
are pre-diabetic Symptoms include:
-
Fasting hyperglycemia —Insulin resistance and or
Type II diabetes
-
High blood pressure;
-
Central obesity (also known as visceral,
male-pattern or apple-shaped adiposity)
-
Decreased HDL cholesterol
-
High LDL cholesterol
-
Elevated triglycerides
-
Prothrombotic state: meaning increase fibrinogen
levels which can cause clotting
-
Pro-inflammatory state: often measure using a
Cardiac C-Reactive Protein
This syndrome, which is characterized by high inflammatory
states inside the body, leading to increase clotting potential, and/or
arterial plaque formation.
What causes this syndrome? Much debate
centers around discussion about the factors that lead to Metabolic
Syndrome. What is known, is that the central body fat
accumulation is a sign of visceral fat deposition. This visceral fat
is fat the lays as an apron on top of the organs inside the abdomen.
This fat is different from that fat that we can pinch in the abdominal
wall area. Visceral fat acts to promote inflammation, as well as to
secrete leptin. Leptin is a hormone in the body that
communicates with the hypothalamus in the brain. More on this
latter.
What leads to Metabolic Syndrome is
multi-factorial. Usually it starts with a diet that supports the
development of insulin resistance. High glycemic carbohydrate diets
promote insulin resistance. Insulin resistance alters the way a
body metabolizes calories and the manner in which those calories are
stored. Visceral fat develops and acts as a promoter of inflammation.
Together with diets that are higher in trans-fats, the inflammatory
environment is supercharged and goes into a viscous cycle. Combine all
this with a declining hormone environment and the end result is
disease states that lead to increase risk for stroke, heart attacks,
and cancers.
